Gladiatrix III Preview is Available to Download

  • A freshly updated version of the Gladiatrix III preview is available. It will take you through roughly the first third of the planned module.

  • Link to download:
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/50730465/GladiatrixIIIPreviewB.zip
  • WARNING: This is for adults due to sexual content, but you should know this already if you played the other 2 modules :)
  • You can use a copy of the character that you completed Gladiatrix II with. I recommend a copy so that you can keep your original available for the full release. You can also use a new character. In that case you will be given enough xp, gold and equipment to get started.
  • The preview will end after the Valtrescan tribe encounters.
  • If you have Tessa's or Landon's ring from the first module you will get extra conversations and intimate options with either of those characters depending on which ring you have.
  • Stock up on potions when you can. I recommend at least 10 full healing potions and a few speed and bull's strength.
  • Save your character at the end for a future preview.
  • Feel free to use this page to let me know if you run into errors or to leave general feedback. I posted two new polls to the right just to get an idea how this compares to what I've already released. Please be honest. Hope you enjoy it!

  2. Hmmmm crashes in Forest of Sorrows, but not at same place each time. No Matter, Will save/play my way through :p

  3. I tested the Forest of Sorrows crashing issue, and it's not a problem with the mist or any other placeables, or the creatures. I removed all of them from the area, disabled skybox too, and it still crashes. I think the reason is something on the edge tiles on the northern edge of the map, because that is where the crashing happens, at least in my case.
At any rate, temporarily dropping graphics settings to the lowest fixes the problem. It could be some sort of video card incompatibility thing, I guess.

  4. Yes Lyra,, looking at the crashes I had it was near the top edges.
Will try in a lower setting. Many tnx

    1. Are you guys having the problem with the latest file I uploaded? (GladiatrixIIIPreviewB.zip) I just tested the area exploring all along the north edge of the map and couldn't cause it to crash. When I faced the Balrog and his minions they unleashed a ton of spells and summoning at me. It was a literal fireworks display and it still didn't crash. I don't have a super fast system (AMD Turion Dual core 2.4 ghz, 3gb ram, Radeon HD 4250). If enough people are having the crash I may try to rebuild the area just in case something is FUBAR but I can't duplicate the problem. Please keep reporting if anyone experiences the crash or can shed more light as to what might be causing it. Thanks!

    2. I had no problems in the Forest of Sorrows and (GladiatrixIIIPreviewB.zip). But I also have a bit more powerful computer (AMD Phenom II X4, 4GB RAM, Radeon HD5770).

The only problem I had was that Tessa upper body wasn't shown during the greater part of the module. I guess I am missing the clothes file for it.

    3. It's that name but a couple of hours ago.
my card is a Geforce GTX460, never been an issue on the previous mods. I reduced all settings but it is always the same area. The Northern square. I meant up the middle after killing that wierd thing, and from the left after killing that big thing with a sucubus.
*sniffle* I want to play :(

    6. Still locked up. FallynRayne you want the save sent ?

      Delete
    7. Sure. You can email the save file to me at fallyn_rayne(at)hotmail.com and I'll take a look at it when I get home tonight.

I'm going to rebuild the area tonight from scratch and post a test that starts the PC and Tessa in that area. Then I'll ask for some volunteers who are having the problem to download the test with the new area and try it out. If all goes well you can just continue the module from there.

I'm wondering if the creatures in the northern area are causing the crash when they start casting spells and summoning. Does someone know their way around the toolset enough to test this? Basically set yourself as a starting point in that area and then remove all the northern monsters. Then see if it crashes. It would be helpful to know if they are the culprit.

      Delete
    8. Fallyn, I already tested it by removing all the placeables and creatures in the area in the toolset, placing starting point in the forest, and it still crashes near the northern edge of the area. And yes, it's with the version linked in this post, as well as the earlier version.
I build stuff too, so I'm decent at using the toolset, although I'm by no means an expert at it. I'll be happy to help you test more.

    9. sending .sav also I'd be happy to try anything you need :)

    10. Oh, thank you! I will rebuild the area tonight from scratch and then post the file to be tested with a starting point in that area. If it isn't ready later tonight it will be ready tomorrow. Thanks for helping :)

  5. A couple observations/comments/suggestions about the strip card game at the Naked Lady:

    1. The PC doesn't actually have to have any money to play the card game.

    2. Nothing happens to the PC if she loses and doesn't actually have the money to cover her debt. I feel like the two gamblers should at least comment on this, although I would love to it result in a sexual encounter.

    3. If the men lose the game, the house keeps their clothes, but if the PC loses, she gets her clothes back. Ol' Anon here is against double standards, especially when they could have sexy results. If the PC loses the card game, she should permanently lose those clothes, or have to do something to get them back (preferably something sexy).

Other than that, the module is pretty promising so far.

    1. Not in agreement on the Sexy bit as it can detract from a dialogue later on, or, if you want to strengthen the relationship, unless your not involved with Tessa :)

      Delete
    2. What are you referring to? My character is in a relationship with Tessa, and she seems to have no objections to sharing a man with the PC.

      Delete
    3. Good point on the money. I'll make sure to script an option in the full release to check that the PC has enough money. I'm actually surprised that anyone wouldn't have enough money by now. If they player doesn't have money by this point they might be in trouble when they need to stock up on potions later unless they plan to put their belongings up in a garage sale.

I had considered adding sexy results to the strip poker game. I decided not to because I didn't want it to come across as encouraging the character to have sex with every other random stranger they meet. I think it cheapens the character or comes across as "here we go again" if it's over done. So I left it as just a sexy little tease or diversion. I guess I could put an option in if enough people are interested. I'll wait for more opinions on that if there are any. If there's enough interest in seeing the card game lead to something more then I can see about putting in an option for that.

      Delete
    4. My PC had enough money to cover it, but just out of curiosity I dropped all of my gold just see if anything different would happen, which was how I originally came across that.

      Delete
    5. I know it's just one opinion, but I'm a fan of adding sexy results as often as possible. :p

On a serious note, I don't think having additional encounters cheapens the character. She's a strong, independent woman comfortable with her sexuality (that last part somewhat depends on how the player chooses to play the module, but still).

Her entire story-arche seems to show her making her own way in the world and balking at what society expects of her.

She forsakes her socieo-economic role to be an adventurer.
She forsakes her traditional gender role to be a fighter/gladiator.
She can turn her back (depending on the PC's choice) on traditional sexual values and take a woman to be her lover/life partner.
The list goes on, but I think you get the point.

Sierra Westhaven has taken on the traditional heroic male role (and I mean this and the following point in only the strictest sense traditional story tropes/plot structure. It is not meant to demean women or say that they can't do these things); She fights like a man, she acts like a man (ie making tough decisions like the traditional male hero of a traditional story would), why not let her love like a man (using her raw talent, ability, and charms to bed who she wants, when she wants)?

A man is (more often than not) celebrated for having numerous conquests. Why can't she be the same way? It would be a celebration of a strong female character's sexuality.

If people don't want to play her that way, they could always choose a different dialog option, but for those of us who want our strong female character to have a matching strong sexual apetite, let us have the option, please.

    6. Anon,, I mean where you can say to her, I dont want to share you. And she agrees. But the choice is yours, We dont know what Fallyn has instore for us yet :p

    7. Fallyn, I tried another char (I have a few lined up :D ) and still the same lockup.

    8. Hmm, I like your observations. I always envisioned her as a chaotic-good character (that's how I like to play her) so I guess it would fit. I'll definitely keep your ideas in mind for the final release.

      Delete
    9. In That case, why not have a place for the PC and Tessa to have some alone time if the player doesn't want to have the gangbang ?

      Delete
    10. Dalethfc: " I mean where you can say to her, I dont want to share you."

Where/when does that conversation take place? I honestly don't remember that occuring. Was it in the first module?

    11. No, it's on the airship if you get it on with her.

    12. I support the sex aftermath of the card game, not because of the lack of sexual encounters, but because of variety, it's an opportunity for some fun (and optional) 2-on-2 group sex.

    13. It occurs to me that these two guys have a ship, and Sierra needs a lift. It seems early in the story, but I could imagine some side quest / option where the Shroud's ship is sabotaged, and you have to find your own way. Maybe Sierra loses her gold and has to work with what she has... Maybe she is captured as a result, and loses her money and equipment? (But as a player, I hate that kind of gold/item stripping, at least without a chance to get it back) Then has to escape and get things back on track.

It would certainly make the Scourge seem more menacing if they were starting to f*** with the Shroud's plans.

Then again, that's why my friends stopped letting me be the GM.

    14. Losing gear is acceptable, as long as it is temporary.

      Delete
    15. Agreed. In fact, I think that's one aspect of the charm of ADWR--the stripping down to "just you" and the challenge of a dungeon crawl, followed by a moment of "oh wow! I forgot I had that!" and some whupass.

    16. @ reeshau

I can see why they stopped you :p

She has enough to cope with when she gets off the airship lol

      Delete
    17. I happen to agree with this idea actually. I think it's entirely logical the Scourge has spies working the docks, and suspect you're on your way.

It'd be interesting if you play the card game and lose it turns into an ambush with at least the potential of being captured and having to work your way out.

  6. I'm having trouble with the conversation with the wood nymph in the forest of sorrow. The conversation isn't going to completion (with the transport to the next area), forcing me to go through it several times (and spawning multiple centaur groups). I can only seem to get it to finish properly if I select "Landon, is that you?" but I'm not sure that works every time either.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I haven't had that problem. If you're a speed reader maybe you are getting too far ahead before the centaurs are within range to join the conversation. Or maybe Tessa is in some kind of stealth mode or doing something to prevent her from joining in. I'll make sure she has a clear script on her when the conversation starts. I'll also keep an eye out to see if anyone else has trouble with this.

  7. I didn't have any problems with the mod locking up like some of the others her have had, but I'm playing on a fairly high end machine.

I noticed a few spelling errors, enticing not inticing. I may run back through the preview and note just where the errors are.

There was one instance that the conversation "dropped" while talking to the Pegasus. It was close to the beginning of the dialogue where Sierra is speaking to Landon. It ended, and I re-clicked on the pegasus, restarting the conversation. I chose a different dialogue path, and was able to complete that and advance.

All in all, I have enjoyed this preview and am looking forward to more.

    2. Hi Rayne,

I completed a second run through of the module preview and found these few spelling errors.

cypherconv: Beta on a small boat at the southwest end of the docks.

Perhaps it should read: Beta is on a small boat at the southwest end of the docks.

cypherconv: They also have some of the kingdoms of Hadrian already bendig their knee to their cause out of cowardice.

Should be bending... missed an "n"

nymphconv: naughty little fay (when the nymph is addressing the pixies who are toying with Landon)

      Should be fey

Also in the cypherconv he speaks of Valwick Village as a rendezvous point with Landon. Is that meant to be Cliffdell?

One other and this may not even be a typo, but in the bartenderconv (at The Naked Lady) he sells Tessa and Sierra Venusian Wine... I only mention it because in the first Gladiatrix module there was Velusian Wine as well as Velusian Silk in Gladiatrix 2. Not clear on that one, but thought I'd mention for continuities sake.

Thizbesca: (in regards to the reward for the gladiator battle Sierra competes in) That sounds like a very inticing reward.

Should be: That sounds like a very enticing reward.

That's all I spotted, but will keep an eye out for others in case I missed anything.

  8. All of these people having crashing problems and missing body textures, sounds almost like they're missing the 1.69 critical rebuild patch.

    5. I still crashed with this new mod, but not until I started fighting the demons. When it happened last night, I had saved just before the encounter, (I was in the Top Middle of the map) but then I would crash on reload.

It's definintely not a horsepower issue. I have a 3.4 GHz i7 w/ 8 GB RAM and a Radeon HD 6700. I am thinking it's a conflict of some sort. I do have the 1.69 patch. FR, do you have CEP installed?

      Full up2date CEP and 1.69
My PC is a high end one to. It was said earlier that it was probably something to do with the actual mobs or something. Did you delete the previous mod ?
And was it a completely fresh game ?

      Delete
    7. @Dalethfc,
I didn't use the previous mode (preview) but the special version FR made. I used the character from the end of G2. I'm not frustrated (yet) but it is a mystery we should solve, or there may be a number of people who run into it on release. It will just take some trial and error with plugins, etc. And some patience.

      Delete
    8. Yes, I'm wondering if you are somehow playing the previous version I posted. You would have to start a new game because a save game would still reference the old module. I rebuilt that area from the ground up so I'd really be baffled if there are still crashes. It's just a forest area and I have a lot of those. Not sure why this one would crash. The only difference is I've got lightning and rain at 100%.

      Delete
    9. FR,
What I meant is that I was using your file GladiatrixIIIForestSorrows.zip So, it would have to be fresh, as that was just posted. I will say that the last two times this happened (with the Forest version and B version) I was actually OK until the hnchmen monsters started summoning. But after that, if I have saved before I encounter them, it will crash immediately. We'll find the source!

      Delete
    10. Here is an interesting observation...

I was focusing on the prior comments that people said the crash happens when you get near the top of the map. I had one session actually get into the fight with the Balrog and the Abishi, crashing when the Abishi summoned a creature.

So, I just modified the special ForestSorrows game file in one way: I removed the Summon Baatezu ability from the Abishi. (set it to 0 uses) Guess what? Worked twice all the way through the level, no problems.

I haven't tried it with the full file yet, but I would be interested to see the results of others who had issues. Also, FR--where did you get those creatures from? If you are hooked on having that summon, we may be able to narrow down what the conflict is.

      Delete
    11. Hi Reeshau. Those creatures came out of the CEP. I don't have my heart set on having the Summon Baatezu. I don't even know what a Baatezu is, it's just something that came with the Abishai. When I tested it appears to be summoning an Erinyes instead, which looks like a succubus. I went ahead and removed the summon Baatezu from the Abishai and reposted the preview and forest of sorrows modules. I think there's enough going on in that battle where the extra summon isn't needed. Thanks for all your help with the testing!

  11. Finished, decided to play it 2 times, and still had no bugs or crashes, thou for some reason, the 2'nd time around, I got stuck again after the transport and had to do the keyboard run again, but no biggy.

Adding a sexual encounter at the card game would be fun, and I found the non-consequence if the PC loses and can't cover the bet to be a little disappointing, my PC had the gold but I drop it just to see the 2'nd time around.

Adding alone time with your Partner would be nice, I mean we finally get Landon back but it just felt a little "hey honey, missed you but can't get into that now - hush and follow me" lol

But still love it and can't wait to see more :)

    1. Hi Ravyn.
      [SPOILERS]
If you have Landon's ring you will get the option to be a little naughty with him under the covers the first night that you are in Valtresca. That is if you pick the right conversation options. Also, when helping him prepare for the wrestling match, if you choose to do it alone and ask Tessa to leave then it can lead to fully animated sexy results. Or if you let Tessa stay then there is the option for 3-way sexy results but not animated.

      Delete
    2. I just made my 3'rd run and nice, I didn't get that option last time, maybe I pressed something wrong. But one thing, when you find the chest and Landon gets his armor back, it seams a little odd that he doesn't comment on it at all,but maybe that is just me :)

  12. Found a little - very little - glitch:

    --- Beware of Spoilers ---
In the Village of Cliffdell, the little girl Lindy gives you a glowing stone for finding her lost kitty. If you choose to refuse her offer, she insists and you get a second stone.
The dialog is not completely consistent: Lindy says "Here's the glowing rock I promised you for finding him." even if you did not ask for any payment in the first dialog and just offered to help.
The glowing rock identifies as "Stone of Earth Shattering" and should invoke Earthquake(20) but has no charges ti actually do so - I don't know if that's intended or not.
BTW, Cliffdell - in the very first dialog, Cypher calls the village were Tessa and the player are to meet Landon by some other name I can't remember at the moment.
I did not suffer from the crashes in the Forest of Sorrow. Could it be that some people should update the CEP to the latest 2.4 version?

    That was longer than intended.
Thanks for your great effort - it is fun playing so far and I am really curious how the story will go on.
The many dialog options the player can choose which express some doubt lead me to thinking: Is the Shroud really the good side? I have only Cypher's word on it - an Beta even tells my to leave thinking to Cypher and herself. Being who I am, being told to stop thinking always leads to even more and more critical thinking. I like that. Perhaps I stay in Shangri La some time.

    Greetings

  13. SPOILER AHOY (I Guess)

I wish the PC could actually do some things in Shangri-La instead of basically just getting a couple lines of text and then getting a game over.

It would even nicer if the PC could go to Shangri-La and still finish the game with a good ending, but just have the rest of the module be harder or something, but I imagine that would involve much more work than you'd want to do.

    1. I'll see if I can do something more with that. I really threw that in there on a whim just to give the player a feeling of more choice in their decisions. I probably won't spend a lot of time on it since it takes the player off the beaten path but maybe I can flesh it out a little.

  14. - No problems in the forest of sorrow (original version). Liked it actually, looks great.
    - It's easy to cheat in the arena contest. When you're asked to choose a weapon you can talk to Tessa or Landon. They will join you, you can take their items and they will stay with you in the arena.
    - In the last battle Landon died and there was no corpse, so I couldn't ressurrect him. This happened twice (=allways).

    [SPOILERS]
I feel the forest of sorrow bit was gone too fast. You fight some monsters in a gauntlet, then trees tell you to talk to the boss and that your dude's playing with some nymph. So you get your dude, and he's like hey, and you're like sup, and then you move on to talk to the pretty pony, who says YOU'LL BE STUCK HERE, IMPRISONED IN PARADISE FOREVER, and you say you gotta go, then she says okay, and then it's over.
The nymph, the centaurs, and the pony encounter just woosh by within 5 minutes.

  17. Hi there, just wanted to say that I loved the first two Gladiatrix modules and I'll happily be playing the third preview when I get some free time ^_^ However, I have a question.
My computer crashed a month or so back and had to have Windows 7 reinstalled, so I lost my NWN files, including my saves from the previous Gladiatrix modules and the character I'd been using. I noticed you advised people to use the same character, but I don't currently have enough free time to replay the first two mods, so would it be possible to add some sort of "prelude" to the third chapter, where an NPC asks if you've played the prior two games, and if you haven't adds XP/gold/plot items/etc? I've seen several others mods do this, and it's handy for people who want to replay with a different character, or for people like me who don't back up their hard-drives *grumble*. I completely understand if you don't wish to add that to your module or if it'd be too much hassle, it was just a thought :]
I also hope Braxton returns xD
Good luck with the rest of the mod and everything, and thanks for the great first two mods!

    2. Hi. I can add that to the module. I like the idea of adding a question at the beginning to identify if you are starting with a new character or an existing character. If you choose new then I can set it to give you enough XP and gold to get started with the module. Then just level up until you get to level 15. I'll have that posted this weekend. So keep an eye on this conversation thread. I'll post here when that is updated on the preview and ready to download.

  18. Okay, I played the full preview, which went without a problem after I applied the baatezu fix. I didn't write down any spellchecks, but here are my observations:

    1) My journal says that I looked at Cypher's diary, even if I did not sneak up to his treehouse before meeting him.

    2) That lucky Shroud ranger got the last hit on the ancient bear, and stole my xp!

    3) The stone of earth shattering has 0 charges. (maybe this was intentional?)

    4) I can get multiple Valtrescan Wrestling Belts if I exit the ed dialog before it finishes. (I was afraid it wouldn't give me a chance to save before ending)

    1. Thanks, reeshau. Glad there were no further glitches. I'll check those things out. This is all very helpful. The stone is meant to have charges. I'll check that.

  19. The Valtrescan Bracers of Archery are "unidentified". The description is there, but the special properties are not displayed an none of the NPCs or the player has a high enough lore value to identify. Anyway, since the are given for winning a championship, they should be identified.

  20. I really hope Emmalynn returns and has a sexual encuounter with the PC. Any chance of that happening?

    1. Emmalynn is expected to make an appearance later in the module but I haven't planned to develop a sexual relationship with the PC. She's a bit on the reserved side.

    2. So let's help her come out of her shell.

    3. One of these days I will actually sign up with an actual name/account here...

Anyway, I agree with, Anonymous above me. Emmalynn definitely had an effect on me last game. Ok, as much as any fictional character in a 10+ year old game with ancient graphics could, anyway. :P

Yep, I thought she was hot. And that encounter in the cave with me looking on was extremely erotic for me..especially since that lunkhead did the same thing to my character in the game. Was hoping for more discussion with her afterwards..

But I digress. I know you have a lot of romance/sexual encounters already for the characters. Adding another one would probably be a bit of a pain. But if you do happen to add one for Emmalynn...lets just say I won't complain. :)

    4. I'll have to see if there's away I can fit a romantic encounter in somehow without it appearing contrived. I can't make promises but I'll give it some thought.

  21. I need help...

After the pegasus decide to let my party out of the forest, I end up on a map where the only thing I can do is buy stuff from an alchemist inside his house. I can't go anywhere else afterward...
After I get out of his house, there's no way to go...

    Maybe I'm missing something...

    1. Slight spoilers ahoy, mate-ee...

      ..

      ...

      .....

      Begin Spoilers:

What worked for me that one of the openings (and my feeble brain can't remember which one at the moment) didn't have a blue transition spot -- so I just held down the arrow key (the "W" key in my case) to move forward and that transitioned me into the next area. I think FR fixed that in the last mini update.

      Hope that helps!

      JC

    2. Yes, I fixed that in the latest version I've posted. You must have the original. The transition on that version is hard to trigger. Like JC said, the best way to trigger it is to go back and forth with the keyboard until it triggers. Someone said that spam clicking got them through it.

    3. It worked!!!

      Thanx everyone!

Thank you fallynrayne for the great modules!

  22. a romance with Emmalyn is not possible.
She's a priestess and is a servant of the goddess Le Lune.
One of her rules is purity (no sex)

    1. Because no religous figure has ever broken a rule. :rolleye:

And who's to say what the rules of her religious order are? Maybe her Goddess is ok with it.

If you don't like it, you don't have to choose that dialog tree. Don't ruin it for the rest of us.

  23. Finally have time to finish the preview and I love it. It's pack full of content, however it would be better if pacing is a bit slower. For example, during Valtrescan tribe tournaments, I think it would be better if the play can walk around the city and talk to people. Also, by adding some small characters like the hooker next to the Naked Lady makes the world feels a lot more realistic.

  24. I can't get to the Western Fringe, there is no transition area lighting up in the area North of the Forest of Sorrows. Did I miss something or what? What can be done? Or just give me a console command please.

    1. You must have the old version. I fixed that in the newer version that is posted. To get it to trigger you have to use the keyboard to move back and forth into the area where the transition is supposed to show up. I think it's the W key and maybe the D key that moves your character back and forth. Do that until it triggers. Someone else said they spam clicked that area until it triggered.

  26. Preview was lots of fun. Thank you for putting it up :)

Didn't run into any bugs, so cannot report any.

    Do have a few suggestions:

At the Forest Convincing the pegasus to let you go could do with being a little bit more involved. Forcefully being sent to shangri-la and then having to escape would have been better. Perhaps with two ways, one for good characters, and one for bad characters.

Would suggest changing it from 'demons/monsters' protecting the forest to those tree-men and other plant creatures (though may have to boost them up a bit), or earth, water, and air elementals. That way it gives the place a stronger feel of being different than what we've already run into.

In the Valtrescan city, getting the option to do a bit of shopping would be have been nice. Seems to have been ages since the character needed to buy anything. All this gold and nothing to spend it on. Talking of that, could have a chance of getting caught if you go out of bounds (like sneaking in to see a certain activity) where you'd have to pay a fine or somesuch.

    1. I like the idea of an escape from Shangri-la. So rather than giving up their isolation so easily, it's more of a bewitchment. Maybe there is a way out (after all, you got there somehow) and you have to break the illusion to escape. But the more you partake of the vices of the island, the stronger the illusion is. Or, perhaps it is something like the movie Dark City, and there is a nefarious force keeping would-be heroes out of the Scourge's way. Or. Maybe it's like Lando Calrissian's Bespin cloud city, and the Pegasus has made a deal to save her realm...

    2. I'll give it some thought to see if I can do more with it. I have a lot ahead of me yet to build. I just want to make sure I'm not still building this module into 2014. I want to finish it while a few people still play NWN :)

  27. Ooohh,, forgot to say,, you can still get Tessa's Underwear and diary from here house. Also,, just a thought, will you be adding a script to put the stuff you stored in your house in part 2 into part 3 ? or is that lost now ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't know how to make a script that would bring items from a previous module. There may be a way but it would it would take too much time to figure out. Probably best to gather all your belongings before the module is over. Just carry a big suitcase :)

  30. This first city in which you take the airship to make new allys needs a bit of a city feel to it, I know this is just a preview, but a few non-plot related quests could liven things up a bit, give a bit of a history of the place, or perhaps show how the Scourge's influence is spreading.

    Keep up the good work!

  31. I enjoyed the preview, though I couldn't get past the end of my first Valtrescan arena fight (the one straight after Tessa's archery contest).

Once I'd beaten my oppenent, the lady (I forget her name) came out and told me to follow her out of the arena. After that she just stood there and when I clicked to talk to her again, it went back to the conversation before that fight.

Since several of the other comments have referred to the Valtrescan wrestling competition, which I didn't reach, I assume this wasn't just the point the preview was supposed to finish.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That's not where it is supposed to end. The script must not have started the conversation. Thanks for letting me know. I'll check it out and put in a conversation on her in case the script doesn't fire.

  32. when you have the sexual encounter with Landon before the wrestling match, if you send Tessa away and do the non-animated encounter it doesn't seem to go to the wrestling match after, for me anyway

I don't think anyone mentioned this before, sorry if they did and I missed it.

  33. Hi. I'm playing the preview and I also got a crash in the Forest of Sorrows (when walking through the West part of the area, though I doubt that's relevant). That was only the first time; I didn't have any problem after restarting the game.

I used the download link from the menu at the right of the page so I guess I'm playing the latest version ("GladiatrixIIIPreviewB.zip"). No other bugs so far.

    1. Not a "bug" per se, but Landon's armor is medium, which prevents him from using his dual wielding feats properly (should be light). I also noticed this issue with Braxton in the second module.

    3. For some reason, Tessa won't unlock the door in the alley leading to the arena basement. I can just bash the door so no biggie, but it can prevent the conversation inside from firing correctly (since I had to enter combat mode and I got the "you're too excited to talk" message).

This may be a bit nitpicking, but having Tessa opening the lock (or just remove the lock from the door entirely) should avoid any possible issues.

Also, the participants in the archery contest only attack three times before stopping. I managed to find a workaround by repeatedly speaking to the tribe leader (which makes them shoot three times again, and so on).

    4. Daeline uses healing potions in the arena fights. I remember this issue with some of the fights in the first module as well.

    5. Thanks! I'll add these to my notes.

  34. Hello, couldn't see if this was mentioned but when in the arena (when the PC is doing her round, in it) the NPC's seem determined to join in and slay their own (either by mob swarm or the shaman? casting death spells upon her)
