In between arena battles, Sierra is selected for a task that brings her much pleasure. It is even more pleasurable than fighting for her master. This task that she looks forward to more than anything is massaging the elder brain. She loves nothing more than to press her fingers into the spongy, wet tissue and caress it lovingly. She knows she is doing a good job when the brain pulsates in contentment and burps bubbles into its brine pool. She doesn't know why, but the whole process is strangely erotic. On one occasion, Sierra got overly zealous with her massage and pressed too hard. The brain responded with a swift blow to her head using one of its tentacles. It left a nasty bruise, but Sierra knew she would recover. She was more concerned about causing the elder brain discomfort. She couldn't possibly live with herself if she caused it harm.

My target is end of March but that could very well move into April. It's hard to predict. I want to get it right and flesh out the scenarios properly instead of rushing through it. Hopefully the final product will be worth the little extra wait.

DeleteThe scenario is interesting, and your captions are funny. But how is this more than a giant cutscene? I can't imagine being left to direct Sierra's movement at any point--just get the heck out of there! Maybe if her friends were held hostage, and she had to be a "good girl," or they may have an oopsie.
ReplyDeleteI can very well suspend my disbelief, and just have a snarky inner monologue, but I am dying to see how you make this a chapter that seems to last as long as your updates are implying...
Most of it is conversation driven between arena fights. She's also being mind-controlled, so that is why she hasn't tried to make an escape, although there's a small part of her mind that realizes this is all wrong. The mind control makes her want to stay and please her master and the elder brain.

DeleteThere are a couple of intense encounters, but the only reason they are in there is because it makes the most sense for the story. It's not like, "hey, I have to find somewhere to put in a rape scene". The player has the option to avoid or not witness the intense encounters.
DeleteI'm just asking because in those scenes I've done everything possible to fail, and yet my heroine gets out just shaken up.
DeleteLike in the gentlemen's club basement, I fail the strength check on the guy then I just get to choose how I want to beat him.
If you don't include any scenes, fine by me. It's an excellent mod with out them. I'm just hoping to plant the seed of thought that one day when I mess up in game, I'll get "properly" punished.
P.S. I am aware I have some pretty obscene taste, but you must have known some sick puppies would come out of the wood work? Good luck on the rest of the module, loving it anyway it comes.
This reminds me a lot of the psionics training session in episode II, which I thought was one of the finest scenes. I tink you have a real talent for setting up and describing tension and inner conflicts, so I have high expectations for these Everdark scenes :)

DeleteThere's new NWN module released, A Dance with Spies. That has male protagonist, but it is set in same world as A Dance with Rogues (but different author). I like it so far very much.

DeleteThanks for the headsup from me as well! I have played it for about an hour and I like it too. I figured it would be exactly like ADWR, but it's not. Sure there are similarities, but it's got it's own unique take on it so far. At least it will give me something to play until I impatiently wait for a certain sequel to be completed. ;)
