Gladiatrix III - Week 47 Update

The war of the realms is upon us. Members of the Shroud must break off into separate fighting units for the campaign. Sierra must pick the force that she will lead. Will she choose the towering treants from the Crystaline glade, the elite Valtrescan archers, the mighty Dakari warriors or the illustrious wizards of Sylvandaryn? The fate of all the lands is in her hands.

  1. Awww I was hoping it would release tonight.

  2. Ahh, me too.

I'm a patient guy, and I'm extremely grateful to modders who use their own time to give something to the community, but ever since I've tried ADWR I'm stuck on adult mods and 3 were supposed to come out in March (G3, Demonheart and Celeritas Eos) and none came out.

I was expecting that one or two will probably miss March, but I didn't expect it to happen to all three. I'm pretty sure well have all three cool mods come out in within a few days of each other and I'll be lost which one to play first.

    Rant off/

I've thanked you a few times already but thanks again FR for sticking with us.

  3. I'm the first anon up there... I was also looking forward to all three of those modules for March. It should be good stuff when they all come out.

  4. It probably would have been out by now. But poor FR had to deal with a truly evil entity. It's called a computer crash. Really nasty little creature. It took awhile for her to vanquish it. And the resurrection spells apparently didn't work on her lost data. So I'm sure it pushed back the release of the module some.

Before long, I'm sure it'll be out. Along with some of those other modules you all have mentioned earlier. Like I have said before, I'm so glad there are people who are still creating fantastic mod's for this game. Just gotta be patient, folks.

  5. Please make it possible for the player who is new to the mod to start with enough experience (the same it was in Gladiatrix 2)

  6. Hi everyone. My target had always been March but my computer crash set me back about three weeks. If that had not happened I still would have missed my target by a couple of weeks. These things are just so hard to predict. Having the beta ready by next week is going to be a long shot because of all the testing I have to do, but I'll try. I'm hoping less than two weeks. I can promise that I'm at the tail end of this. I really appreciate everyone hanging in there with me. I think it will be well worth the wait. I believe G3 is much better than the first two modules and much more immersive.

    2. Believe in Shigery Miyamoto's philosophy: "A delayed game is eventually good, a rushed one is forever bad." I firmly believe that designers should get all the time that they need to finish their products if at all possible. I will be patient and I know this will be a great module!

    3. I really admire your determination to see this through, and without cutting any corners, despite the setback - and the impatient fans :)

For what it's worth, I'd suggest using the beta testers as, well, testers; it's what they (we?) should sign up for. Delegating balance tests to a dozen people not only saves valuable content-creation time but also helps spot issues that arise from different styles of play. Then again, being a veteran of two releases, you probably know this and more already, so I should just go back to keeping quiet and waiting with bated breath :)

    4. Yes, I think the beta testers are a critical part of the final development. I had a lot of fun interacting with the testers on G2. They helped me find the little things that are almost impossible for one person to find. Anyone who frequents this blog is welcome to be a beta tester. I hope to at least make the request for testers next week. I might still be doing some of my own testing but I should be close to releasing it to the testers.

  7. Alas the allies failed to take into account the sexy distraction that is Sierra's behind =P

Will the choice of troops you lead change anything in game or give you different encounters at all?

    1. The encounters will be the same. It's just choosing the group that you think you'll have the best chance with or who you want to do battle with. There will be choices on which opponent forces you advance upon as you have scouts that will let you know what the battlefield ahead looks like.

    2. For those that seek extra challenge please make it possible to do a rambo-like move and go face each encounter on your own by saying something like : "We can't lose anymore troops! I will try to take that wave of enemies on my own" ;)

    3. That reminds me of the games we played as children: "You surround and destroy the division on the left. I will surround and destroy the division on the right." Fun times!

    4. But since her front is just as enticing, the attackers are no less disadvantaged. ;)

  8. Oh my god this is just epic. Keep up the amazing work. WE love you!

  9. I'll definitely pick up archers, maybe they will force enemies to fight less effective with their enticing appearance :)

And great work so far, i believe the end of triology will be brethtaking.

  10. Fallen, I just haven't replayed your module yet (to give it a higher score); am busy building characters.

  11. How can we volunteer to be testers?

    1. When it's ready for testing I'll be posting an announcement here on my blog with my email address. At that time you'll just send me an email stating you want to test and I'll send you the link to download the file.

    2. Sounds like a plan! i'll keep my eye out for it and have my notepad ready!

  13. Maybe fallynRayne is waiting to surprise us with the beta of gladiatrix 3!

  14. Hi everyone. I don't have an update this week. I'm finishing up the final chapter. My plan is to post a request for beta testers next week. I might still be doing my own testing at that time but I'll be releasing the beta shortly after that. Thanks for being patient. I promise that I've been working double-time on it this past week. I'm anxious for it to be finished too :)

  15. FallynRayne,

Were you aware that the new neverwinter game is coming out and that there is going a programs that comes with it that makes you able to create your own stories?

Maybe you could use the new engine to create a new game with a new story for us!

Of course, there probably won't be any sexual animations but it doesn't really matter.

I like the story of gladiatrix just fine even if there were no sexual content in it.

Would it be complicated to release a version of gladiatrix without the sexual content in it so people that don't really want that kind of content could play aswell?

Thanx again for giving us some great modules!

    1. Hi. I'd be interested in building modules on Neverwinter if the toolset is user friendly enough and if I have a system that can handle the game.

I don't have any plans to release versions of the series without the animations. It would be too much work. I think if people are sensitive to that then they would probably be too sensitive to the content in general. I actually think some of the dialog in my series is racier than the actual animations.

    2. As far as I can tell the new never winter game is a mmo so there would be no developers tools

    3. http://nw.perfectworld.com/about/foundry

Somehow I doubt it will give modders the freedom that the old toolsets allow. I'd also want to know whether the mods will be available from third-party sites (e.g. Vault, Nexus) or whether players would be restricted to some sort of approved repository only, and whether there would be any sort of censorship or EULA (e.g. 'no mature content to be played on our servers *or else*').

Still, the concept is quite interesting and I'm glad someone had the guts to try it. I doubt it would allow for any great deal of intimate character development (what's the last time you waited for someone else to read the quest-giver's flavour text? :) ), but it would probably work well for gladiatorial combat scenarios!

    4. Sorry to disappoint you guys, but the foundry is exclusively used to create Quests.

It was already used in Champions Online and Star Trek Online. (seems to be Cryptic Studios "Thing" as of late)

If they didn't make some massive adjustments, you just can create singular dungeons filled with NPCs, triggers, etc.

Not really a modtool in the sense of the NWN toolset.

      Cheers

  16. I apologize if this has already been asked.

Will we be able to continue from where we left off in the prelude or will we have to replay the module up to that point.

    1. Hi. You'll have to start from the beginning when I release the beta version. If you don't want to replay from the beginning you'll probably want to wait until the final release so that you only have to start over once.

      Delete
    2. Will the BETA be for bug fixes or will there be more content in the full release?

      Delete
    3. It will be close to a full release. The beta will be missing at least one side quest and at least one intimate encounter. I plan on building those while it is being tested. Other than that it should be complete.

  17. I can't wait for the full release, I'm so excited to see how this series ends! >w<

  18. I assume that there's unlikely to be an update again this week?

I would imagine that, at this point, it's either "It's ready for beta" or nothing.

    1. I will be posting the request for beta testers tomorrow so that will be the update. I'll still need several days of my own testing after posting my request. I'm hoping to get most of that done over the weekend and have the beta posted early next week. The emphasis is on HOPING so I can't make guarantees. If I run into my own troubling bugs then it could take longer but I don't think there are any.
